A few tips
You can drive in Ghana only with a valid Ghanaian driving licence or an International Driving Permit (a special document not the same as a non-Ghanaian driving license). Kindly understand that Hertz Ghana cannot be held responsible if you don’t comply with this rule.
You are kindly requested to make payments in full, latest on the day of travelling. Payments can be made by bank transfer or through our Website during the reservation process.
Cash payments would need to be deposited in our USD or Cedi account at any SOCIETE GENERALE branch (cash payment to be made no later than the day of travel).
Payment by credit- or debitcard at our counters is possible.
Please note: Car rental service may include a driver (Upon your request) and his expenses. The car comes with the appropriate insurances and you can expand coverage and warranties
- Cedi is the currency used in GHANA. To pay in cash, you’ll have to change your currency into Ghana Cedi’s after arrival in Ghana. You have many ways to obtain Cedi’s whilst in Ghana:
- ATM. VISA & MASTER CARDS ATM are easy to find. Maybe you can contact your bank or credit card company to enquire if and where your ATM card is accepted in Ghana.
You can use a foreign ATM card with a Cirrus or Maestro logo printed on it at Stanbic Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB)...
- Visa card is accepted by ATMs from Barclays bank, Eco bank, Standard Chartered bank, and other smaller banks.
Banks normally open from 8.30 to 4pm and on Saturdays from 9 to 2pm. You can use your credit card at some hotels and restaurants (Visa or Mastercard).
Fuel expenses are not included in the rate. The customer is expected to buy fuel whilst travelling. Cars depart with a full tank. Kindly return the car with the same level of fuel.
Toll fees are not included. Fees are 1 Ghana Cedi per toll booth**.
In order to make you feel more comfortable, we offer you the ability to buy Refuel or Toll fee packages.
